SoftPerfect RAM Disk is a high-performance RAM disk app that allows you to have a disk on your computer that is entirely stored in its memory. Because the memory is much faster than physical hard disks, storing temporary data on a rapid memory disk attains a higher performance.

Most modern computers are equipped with at least 1GB or 2GB of RAM. The unused parts of the RAM could be used as a high-performance alternative to the much slower HDD storage. SoftPerfect RAM Disk allows you create up to 26 virtual RAM disks limited only by the memory available on your system. You can also work with on-disk images and RAM disks associated with an on-disk file, which makes sure that your data is preserved between sessions.

SoftPerfect RAM Disk allows you to store any temporary information on the RAM disk. This is mainly beneficial as Windows and other third-party apps often create a large number of temp files. By using a RAM disk you can extend your hard disk’s lifespan, as the temporarily files are not written to the hard disk, there will be fewer read/write cycles.
